The Doctor's Review of .Hack//Gift
This OVA episode is supposed to be like Episode 29 of .hack//SIGN however it falls far short of that in my opinion. This little sequel is nothing at all like .hack//Sign. The music is the only thing that remains constant and still catchy. The characters are very badly drawn. It looks like a kindergardener got ahold of a few crayons... and the plot while admitedly funny in parts, tends to drag on with no real point at all. I think the only reason you might want to watch this at all is to find out who the player killer is. That was the only really funny part in the entire episode. The rest of the time was spent trying to force my eyes to remain open. This sequel is really not worth the time and trouble they put into making it.

Sailor
X's Review
of .Hack//Gift
Music [ 5/10]: The music is the only part of this ova that is remotely familiar to a .Hack//Sign fan. The problem being that the music neither contributes or hinders the enjoyability of the episode. It's the best part of the episode yet it is highly forgetable. Uneffective use of a soundtrack.
Plot [1/10]: The plot is hardly worth mentioning. It's more like the company made it up as they went along. Highly unfufilling and bland in it's execution.
Characters [5/10]: If you've already seen .Hack//Sign then you've already grown to like the characters. That is the only reason why this rating is so lenient.
Animation [0/10]: A perfect example of some of the worst animation ever drawn.
Likability [0/10]: There was nothing to like about this episode. It was dull, pointless, and not worth the time spent watching it.
