Music [2/10]: From what I have heard of the Naruto music I really didn't care for it. Now I do grant that my Naruto music listening exprience has been very limited, but there is just something about those J-rock songs they choose to use that does not apeal to me. Some of them, like 'Go!' just seem silly.
Plot [2/10]: The plot really could have been good. The sealed demon inside the boy who wants to become a ninja to prove himself, that sounds like a good plot! But, then I watched the first couple of episodes which seemed to consist mainly of Naruto trying to get to the bathroom with out going in his pants... and trying to beat up Sasuke. I know that I am in the minority when I say this.. but I am way beyond tired of the bathroom humor. I don't find it funny and it did not make me like the character of Naruto. The whole series seems course and down right crude, hardly worth the time spent watching it.
Characters [1/10]: The episodes that I watched didn't show me a sympathetic character in Naruto, they instead showed me a brat of a kid wanting everything but being unwilling to do anything for anyone else. I can't feel for or even like a main character like that. The only character in the series I even remotely liked was Sakura and that is probably because she did very little and seemed to despise Naruto. Something, it seems, we both have in common.
Animation [5/10]: I can't really fault the animation style of Naruto too much. Though I didn't like the series or the characters, the animation was pretty fluid. The colors were mostly bright and cheerful. The fight scenes were pretty dynamic, though at times they seemed to move either too fast so you missed something, or too slow so you fell asleep. Overall, the animation style was pretty good.
Likability [1/10]: As if this wasn't clear enough from reading the above paragraphs, no, I didn't like the series. Naruto seems shallow, I mean the show not the character... although... *coughs* There is very little to this series that isn't crudeness and eternally long fight scenes. I didn't care for the characters and I even hoped for Naruto's downfall. I know alot of Naruto fans out there will be quite offended by my review of their series, what can I say? I guess it is just not my thing. And no, I don't think watching the second season would do any good.
Music [ 1/10]: From what I heard, I wasn't impressed. The opening grated on my nerves like cheese and there was no background music that was memorable. I can't even remember the ending theme.
Plot [5/10]: I was lenient on the plot but because it held some potential. In someone elses hands it might have become something at least mildly entertaining. In the actual series I think the plot becomes rather weak, greatly do to it's cast. Not only does the series move entirely too slowly it just doesn't have enough to catch my interest in the first place. Bad humor just doesn't cut it for a lead in.
Characters [2/10]: If I had continued to watch the series I may have started to like Sakura or Hinata. They showed the most promise character wise, even though I think Hinata is crazy for liking Naruto. I personally can't stand Naruto. I know his existence hasn't been easy but I just wanted to walk over to him, slap him across the face, and tell him to pull himself up and stop blaming everyone else for his problems. A brat is hard to have sympathy for. Since the series focuses around him what would have been the point in continuing to watch?
Animation [5/10]: The animation was fine but their was always something that felt like it was missing for me. It's something about the colors.
Likability [0/10]: I've gotten a lot of guff for my opinions on Naruto but here they stand. There is nothing I like about it. I've continual heard that if I kept watching the second season would be loads better. That would still require suffering through the first season. Honestly, there are too many anime out there to waste time on a series you already don't like.
