The Doctor's Review of Pretty Sammy OVA 3

Music [9/10]: Again, basically the same music was used so my original rating still applies.

Plot [6/10]: This Pretty Sammy OVA was definitely the worst of the three. First of all Ramia is missing her memories so you get the 'who am I?' questions all of the time and then you also get the 'I hate my sister, but I miss her' stuff from her little bro. Can we say boring? Meanwhile Sammy gets a crush on a guy and in a poorly considered plot twist the writer decides to have a little love triangle occur between the guy, Sammy, and Ryooki??? What were they thinking?? It did have some really funny moments though. For instance Washu's reaction when she realizes that the shape shifting aliens she has discovered might meld with bad karaoke singers, its priceless, it really is. Might be worth watching the whole anime just for that one scene.

Characters [6/10]: The characters get really well developed in this OVA. You find out that besides being a teacher Washu also does some work for a secret government agency. The plot teases you with who Sammy really has a crush on and you see Ryooki in human form.

Animation [8/10]: The animation stays consistant in these three OVAs so I really don't have too much to add here. The villians were more well drawn in this one and they actually seemed to have some power, unlike the last ones. Good animation style, as usual.

Likability [6/10]: I have to say no. I did not hate this anime but I did not like it either. It just seemed really long and boring to me. Also, the plot went in directions I really did not want to see it go in. I just can not see the whole Sammy/Ryooki thing they tried to insert. It did not work and it just seemed forced like they came to the end of the OVA and said 'what can we do to end this now?' and then they threw something in.

Music [ 9/10]: Another new ending, no loss in quality.

Plot [5/10]: You know you're going downhill when amnesia is introduced into the mix. Ramia lost her memory, shape shifting aliens came to Earth, and Sasami got a crush on a boy named Makoto. Ryo-oh-ki seems to have a crush on Sasami and that gets weird. Not really one of their better plots in my opinion.

Characters [6/10]: There is some additional character development in this installment. I didn't care for the whole shape-shifting alien thing or the characters that developed out of that.

Animation [8/10]: No complaints.

Likability [5/10]: Still worth watching but definately not as good as the other two. I didn't hate this installment but it was lacking the qualities I liked in the earlier episodes.
